I have just encountered your most interesting site and wonder if you would be interested in the attached photograph taken of a float for a carnival in Wellington during the 1930s.  The picture is taken in Bridge Road, just across the road from the Smithfield Inn and, further up on the left, the Smithfield itself.. The coal merchant’s cart belonged to Messrs Stockley and Tudor and the float (2nd prize!) depicted a Gretna Green wedding with my grandfather, Arnold Harrison and his friend, “Sticks” Jones as Alexander and Mose – a radio comedy duo of the 1930s.

My great-grandfather, Richard Teece and his son George worked with the Heavy Horses belonging to the railway in Wellington. Richard Teece had something of a reputation for his empathy for, and understanding of,  “difficult” horses.   Sadly we have no pictures of either Richard or George with their horses.

Introducing you to Dougal ( the Clydesdale whom I have on loan) and his friend Chester.

A few photos of Thunder...waiting for further details.....
